Key Responsibilities and Duties
· Setting up and printing high quality designs up to 8 colours onto Flexible plastic substrates and paper
· Maintain a high level of quality, accuracy, and productivity to make sure efficient day to day running of wide web flexographic printing press
· Ensure that press speeds are optimised, maximising uptime and minimising downtime. Continually checking on safe and efficient operation
· Following an appropriate trouble shooting activity escalate maintenance issues
· Safety must always be a prime consideration and you are required to ensure that the safety of people, the environment and our products are never compromised
· Pro-active approach so the print machine always runs smoothly; observe the process and spot any issues that may arise, assess, evaluate root cause and use problem-solving skills to correct and rectify
· Report issues to the Quality department that may affect output throughout the shift
· Maintain good housekeeping on the press and surrounding areas – 5S auditing
· Maintain stock levels of all necessary materials to fulfil the shift efficiently
· Dealing with solvent- based inks
· Have the experience and knowledge to provide support and training to any new starters or personnel
· Responsible for basic maintenance and cleaning of print machinery
· Comprehensive handover carried out after every shift
Person Specification
· Previous experience of flexographic print minimum of 3-5 years preferable
· Aware of the BRC Code of Practice
· Good attention to detail and an ability to problem solve and work on own initiative
· Must be able to work as part of a team and have good communication skills
· Manage and deal with change in a fast moving and demanding environment whilst still maintaining standards set within the business
· Contribute to the continuous improvement activity
- Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
