Up to £37,000 per annum, benefits include Pension, canteen, on site parking, 33 days holiday. Permanent position working Mon to Fri - 7am to 4pm (early finish on a Friday) - Gillingham, Kent

We have an excellent opportunity for a Toolmaker to join our manufacturing client, based in Gillingham, Kent. Our client are a prestigious leading organisation and a market leader within their industry - the ideal candidate will be a time served apprentice, with experience of tool making from a Press Tool or Mould Tool background ideally.

Location: Kent area

Salary: Up to £37,000 + Pension, canteen and car parking

Job Type: Permanent

Hours: Basic 40 hour week

Holidays: 33 days holiday per annum

Key Duties:
You will be looking after existing press tools as well as research and development of new press tools, scrap savings and development of improvements on existing press tools.
You will be a traditional time served apprentice trained Toolmaker or Mechanical Engineer who has a good understanding of press tools, CNC, lathes and manual machinery.
Able to draught and/or understand technical drawings and relay this to the Design Engineer.
The successful Toolmaker will be required to work on maintaining existing press tools making improvements for scrap savings etc.
Able to work on development of new press tools working on new products and to test and tool them.
The Toolmaker will be working with conventional lathes and tools day to day making adjustments and improvements utilising lathes, milling machinery.
Work closely with the Design Engineer and work on improvements to current and new products.

Experience:
Press Tool Maker either for metal and steel forms and understand different grades of steel i.e. stainless steel thickness's and alloys.
The company would consider someone with mould tool experience looking to gain experience of tooling of press tools.
Used to working to precision tolerances
Working to ISO9001 standards.

The successful Toolmaker will be working within the Toolroom division. Preferably a Time Served Apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering, Manual Machinist, Toolmaker or Developing Press Tool components. The company currently has traditional hand machinery such as conventional lathes, turning and milling machines, hand operated and automated press tools, wire eroder EDM, die sinking and traditional CNC machinery.
